Shipping & Returns
31 Chapters considers you family and we put great value on each and every 31 Chapters piece that is a part of your Create Room story. Each piece of our collection is carefully inspected prior to shipment, but like spilled milk at the dinner table, we also know that accidents happen and damages do too. So we ask that you carefully inspect your pieces upon arrival and notify us of any damage within 48 hours; our 31 Chapters team will quickly work on a replacement. While we know that you are anxious to receive your items when expected, please be aware that backorder dates are subject to change. Furniture may take an additional 7-10 business days while in transit. We do not accept returns or exchanges on the following items: custom upholstery, rugs, furniture, art, lighting, sale items, gift cards, subscription boxes and/ or subscription box items. Subscription Box Policy:
31 Chapters does not accept any returns and/or exchanges for the 31C Subscription Box and/or specific products inside the box. Once the payment has been accepted, the purchase is final. Subscription memberships for recurring, seasonal boxes can be canceled at any time. However, please note that subscription members will be charged at the time that their next box is shipped and the purchase cannot be canceled once payment has been received.
Damages and Issues:
Once your order has been delivered, promptly inspect the items. If a product is defective/ broken, contact us within 48 hours to submit a damage request. It is our priority to resolve these issues as soon as possible. In order to return a defective or broken product, please contact us at email@example.com and one of our team members will guide you through the return process. Please note that returned/ exchanged items must include a receipt of the purchase and must be in the same condition that you received them: unworn and/or unused with original tags and packaging.

Refunds & Exchanges
We have a 30-day return policy, in which customers have 30 days after receiving their order to request a return on qualified goods. Please note that customers have a 24 hour window after placing orders to cancel purchases without any penalties. Items that are purchased on backorder can be canceled within 30 days of purchase. Orders are processed within 3-5 business days after they have been placed.
To be eligible for a return, qualified items must be in the same condition as they were received: unused and/ or unwashed with original tags attached and in its original packaging. Customers must show their order receipt or proof of purchase in order to complete the return process.
To start the return process, customers can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. A 31 Chapters team member will respond to the request via email and guide the customer through the next steps. Items returned to us without first receiving return approval will not be accepted. Approved returns do not reimburse shipping costs. 31 Chapters does not cover costs for return shipping or other additional fees.
After 31 Chapters has received the returned item, the product will be inspected within 3-5 business days and follow company procedures in regards to refund approval. Customer returns that require postage due will be denied and directed back to the sender. Original shipping and handling fees are not refundable, except in the case of an item(s) that is received as damaged or incorrect. After product inspection and refund approval, we will notify you via email and transfer the refund to the source of original payment. We hope to issue refunds as soon as possible, however, the process of transporting returned items back to our warehouse center may take an extended timeframe and we ask for your patience. It can take 5-7 business days for your bank or credit card company to apply refunds to your account.

Damages & Issues
Please check your order when it arrives to your destination. If the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, please refuse upon arrival or please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your shipment so that we can evaluate and solve the problem. Defective or incorrect items can be returned for like-item replacements. Please note we cannot guarantee that your computer screen represents the accurate appearance or color of our products. Handmade items come unique from one another as they are specially made with an individual aesthetic.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
We do not accept returns on products such as rugs, lighting fixtures, artworks, mirrors, furniture, final sale/ clearance items, subscription boxes, subscription box items, and other products specified in their product page, with the exception of bedding accessories and small decor items. Certain other types of items cannot be returned such as customized products, one-of-a-kind goods and/ or special orders. We also do not accept returns of hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases.

At this time, we do not accept exchanges on any 31 chapters products, unless the item(s) is defective or incorrect and can be returned for like-item replacements. There is also a 24 hour window after placing your order to easily cancel your purchase.
Bedding Accessories & Decor Items
We accept the return of most bedding accessories such as pillows, pillow inserts, throws, and small decor items within 30 days of receiving your order along with proof of purchase. Bedding accessories and small decor items that are non-returnable will message this policy on their product page. In order to start the return process, please see our “Refund & Exchanges” policy in paragraph #6 above.
Final Sale & Clearance Items
Aside from manufacturing defects, final sale and clearance items cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded. If your items arrive to you damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your shipment as we handle these issues on a case-by-case basis.
